This guide shows you how to tell whether Canvas is available in a Space, and what to do when it is not.
Prerequisites
- You need the Space ID you want to check.
- You must be an admin of the Space. Canvas is available only to Space admins. See Canvas Access.
Steps
- Sign in as a Space admin.
- Open
/spaces/<spaceId>/canvases. - Check whether the Canvas list loads.
Result: If the Canvas list loads, Canvas is available in that Space.
Opening /spaces/<spaceId> also redirects to a Canvas once Canvas is available: to your most recently opened Canvas in that Space, otherwise the pinned Canvas, otherwise the most recently updated one. If the Space has no Canvases yet, you stay on the Space home page.
Troubleshooting
Canvas Pages Return 404
- A 404 is the only sign that Canvas is unavailable. Canvas does not tell you whether you lack access or the Space does not have Canvas, so a 404 means either Canvas is not enabled for the Space or you are not an admin of it.
- Contact Ligantic to have Canvas enabled for your Space.
Limitations
- Ligantic turns Canvas on for individual Spaces. You cannot turn it on yourself.
- Flow runs from a Canvas are enabled separately from Canvas itself. If they are not enabled for your Space, you cannot start a Flow run from a Canvas even when Canvas is available.
- Space export and import include Canvas data whether or not Canvas is available in the Space. Making Canvas unavailable does not remove any Canvas data.
